The Postgraduate Program in Creative Writing aims to equip students with practical skills and conceptual tools for writing in its various forms. Designed for those who wish to develop their own original project or deepen their knowledge in the field, this program combines intensive writing practice with moments of critical reflection and engagement with different literary traditions and approaches.
The School of Arts thus presents a multidisciplinary curriculum. Primarily practical in nature, its main components are units dedicated to different literary techniques, complemented by subjects that combine writing practice with visual arts, as well as literary theory. Strongly linked to the literary and publishing world, the course promotes students' contact with the professional world. The teaching staff is composed of some of the most prestigious contemporary Portuguese writers, along with seminars featuring guests from different areas of the sector (publishers, independent booksellers and other cultural agents), allowing students to understand how writing and publishing are done in Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking world in the 21st century.
At the end of the course, each student will have to present the writing project they developed throughout the year.
