She has a degree in Communication Sciences, a master's degree in Artistic Studies from the University of Porto, and a PhD student in Artistic Studies at FCSH-Universidade Nova de Lisboa, having received a scholarship from FCT. He wrote for several publications. He collaborated and was a member of the selection committees for the Curtas Vila do Conde and Porto/Post/Doc festivals. In 2017, she was selected for Talent Press Rio and, in 2018, she curated the exhibition Like the Sun/Like the Night, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as part of the retrospective dedicated to António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro in Porto/Post/Doc.

Andreia in Almeida She has a degree and master's degree in Communication Design and New Media from FBAUL. His design journey began with the founding of the design collective Vivóeusébio. After 10 years, he found the possibility of specializing in the design of illustrated editions at the publisher Pato Lógico and currently continues his activity as an editorial designer at Silvadesigners where he also develops global communication projects for brands, companies, museums and other cultural agents. Alongside his design activity, he taught at ETIC and at Universidade Lusófona. In the area of research, he is interested in studying the relationships between the various participants in design projects and how these dynamics affect the final product.

They must have read it to me as a child, but I have no memory of it. I do remember being under a table looking at dolls in books that, because of those dolls, I already knew how to read. As for reading letters, I didn't learn it the first time, but when I finally did, I never stopped. I never abandoned my first love, and that's why I completed a degree in History in the Art History variant at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon. After some adventures, I ended up as a bookseller, and soon ended up in the field of Art and Illustration. I completed a postgraduate degree in Children's Books at the Catholic University of Lisbon in the second year it opened, and thus cemented my love for visual storytelling. For seven years I have been a bookseller, manager and responsible for acquisitions at BAOBÁ bookstore, an independent bookstore specializing in illustration for children and adults.

At the age of 5, they offered him the Jardim Jaleco album and he was never the same again. It was around that time that he started climbing up his father's bookshelf to read all the comic books he could find. At the age of 10, he ran over an old woman while riding his yellow bicycle and this memory, as well as remorse and guilt, never left him. At the age of 16 he met Isabel and Madalena who introduced him to the vicissitudes of an intellectual life. At age 17, psychotechnical tests indicated “92% outdoors”. At the age of 19, he entered the Communication Design Course at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon. At a certain point he decided to leave (the psychotechnical tests were right). At that time, he took the Drawing Course at the Society of Fine Arts. At the age of 22, he delivered pies to cafes in a van. Anyone who knows him will have no difficulty guessing the reason for his dismissal (“smashing and stealing pies” was mentioned in the file). This is how his design career began. In 1999, he founded Planeta Tangerina. Since then he has won several awards.

Carolinas Celas lives and works in Lisbon. He graduated in Design at the University of Aveiro. She later completed a postgraduate degree in illustration and a Masters in Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art. She works as a freelance illustrator for different media. The poetry and harmony of his work invites children and adults to perceive places without limits, exploring detail, humor and the surreal. In recent years he has participated in several national and international exhibitions. She is the author of the book Horizonte published by Orfeu Negro.

Catarina Sobral is an illustrator and communication designer, with forays into the areas of engraving and animation cinema. Author of the illustrated books “Greve” (Special Mention in the National Illustration Award), “Achimpa” (voted Best Children's Book by the Portuguese Society of Authors) and “O Meu Avô” (winner of the International Illustration Award at the Book Fair of Bologna 2014 and selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Book Fair), Catarina Sobral also signs, in the Orfeu Negro editions, some book trailers for the Orfeu Mini collection.

Duarte Azinheira, has worked exclusively in the cultural area for over 15 years, mainly as an editorial director, but also as a consultant and programmer of other activities (exhibitions, museums, music, conferences). He held executive roles in the private publishing sector, and was a consultant for major Portuguese cultural institutions such as the Gulbenkian Foundation or Camões – Instituto da Língua e da Cooperação. He directs all cultural activities of the National Press in Portugal and abroad, and is also director of the Casa da Moeda Museum.

Inês Viegas Oliveira was born in Tavira, in 1995. In an attempt to know everything, she graduated in Physics, and after half a master's degree in Mathematics she realized that, deep down, she knew nothing. She then completed a postgraduate degree in illustration at UAL, which left her more relaxed. In 2020, 2022 and 2023 she was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair. It is part of the European Every Story Matters project that promotes inclusion through stories and books. From this project comes his first book, “O Duelo”, published in 2022 by Planeta Tangerina. It moves between science and art, author and reader, image and word, trying to break some boundaries. He continues to ask a lot of questions but every now and then he takes a break to write or draw.

PhD in Philosophy – specialty of Aesthetics –, from FCS/ Universidade Nova de Lisboa, as a PhD fellow from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation for co-tutorship in Paris IV – Sorbonne, in the Literature department. FCT scholarship holder for a master's degree in Communication, Contemporary Culture and New Technologies from the same university. He graduated in Communication Sciences with a thesis on the mutual conditioning between criticism and art. He collaborated as a journalist in several publications (Around the world, Magazine National Geographic, Iberian Art, Capital Art, etc.). Since April 2023, he has been founding director of the School of Arts of the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL). He is an Associate Professor at UAL and a guest lecturer at the IPCA Superior School of Design (ESD) and teaches at these institutions, among other UC's, Image Theories, Creative Writing, Communication and Digital Storytelling, Cyberculture. He is a researcher at LabCom (Communication and Arts) and collaborator at CEAA (Art and Critical Studies) and at the Nip.Com Communication Research Center, at UAL. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of CONFIA – International Conference on Illustration and Animation within the scope of the Masters in Illustration and Animation at ESD at IPCA. Since 2018, he has been a member of the Selection Committee of the Porto/Post/Doc film festival. He works as a freelance translator in the field of contemporary aesthetic and literary thought (Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Rancière, Georges Didi-Huberman, François Truffaut, Bernard Stiegler, Marie-José Mondzain, Paul Éluard, Pierre Klossowski, Ghérasim Luca, etc.).

Ana Matilde Sousa is a visual artist and academic, born in Lisbon, where she lives and works. As a teenager in the 90s, I was obsessed with the Japanese animation series Dragon Ball Z, which I watched dubbed into Portuguese by actors who strongly “glocalized” the original content. His works have been published by alternative comics publishers and other entities, both in Portugal and internationally, including Chili Com Carne (Portugal), Kunsthalle Lissabon (Portugal), Monde Diplomatique – Portuguese Edition, kuš! (Latvia), Ediciones Valientes (Spain), Éditions Trip (Canada), Anthropocene Curriculum (Germany), 1646 – Experimental Art Space (Netherlands), the magazine Zupełnie Inny Świat (Poland), Silent Army (Australia), and the magazine Kuti (Finland). As an author, she presents and publishes articles on Japanese contemporary art and pop culture in classes, magazines and conferences with scientific refereeing and book publishers such as Routledge and Minnesota University Press. She has a PhD in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and currently works at this institution as a Junior Researcher at FCT and Guest Assistant Professor.

António Jorge Gonçalves (Lisbon, 1964) is a Portuguese comic book author, cartoonist, visual performer, illustrator, set designer and teacher. His best-known project is “Subway Life”, drawing people sitting in Metro carriages in 10 cities around the world. In 2013, he also received the National Illustration Award (Portugal) for the book “A Beautiful Darkness” (with Ondjaki, Caminho 2013).

Joana T. Silva was born in 1987, in the city of Lisbon, where she currently lives and works. He completed his secondary education at Escola Artística António Arroio, where he attended the General Arts course. He continued his studies in the artistic field by entering the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon where he graduated and acquired a master's degree in Painting. In 2012 he entered the Master's Degree in Visual Arts Teaching at the University of Lisbon, which he completed this year. He is currently developing his artistic projects in the area of painting and artist's books.

Laura Coutinho is a Portuguese illustrator who currently lives in London and studies at the Kingston School of Art. Her recent works emerge as a response to colors and shapes found on walks and explore the sensation of atmosphere anchored in a particular moment or place, from the intersection of observation, memory and imagination. Often working with the tender qualities of soft pastels, Laura aims to invite the viewer's contemplation and offer moments of pause, intimacy and space.

MAGO studio is a risograph printing project founded by illustrators Bina Tangerina and Marcos Martos. The studio was born from a passion for illustration, less conventional and more sustainable printing methods and the desire to explore new techniques. In addition to the printing service, they seek to share their knowledge of the technique and promote the work of the artists and illustrators with whom they collaborate.

Illustrator based in Porto, has worked in illustration for over a decade, having published in Pato Lógico, Ediciones Mónimo, Sexto Piso Editorial and Eterogémeas, among others, in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, Peru, Mexico, USA and Taiwan. Graduated in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and professor in the subjects of Illustration, Picture Books, Drawing and Creative Writing & Storytelling at ESAD Matosinhos. Her work as an illustrative author has been recognized with awards from the Illustrators Exhibition Bologna Children's Book Fair, the AOI World Illustration Awards, Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Competition, 3×3 The Magazine of Contemporary Illustration, White Ravens – Internationale Jugendbibliothek, CJ Picture Book Awards and the DGLAB (National Illustration Award). In 2021 he received the Baba Kamo Illustration Prize, in Valencia.

Mariano Alejandro Ribeiro was born in Buenos Aires in 1993. He writes books, poems, short stories, songs, chronicles and screenplays. He has contributed fiction and poetry to several newspapers and literary magazines. He has degrees in Psychology, Journalism and Literary Theory. In 2018 he was one of the winners of the Fnac New Talents Award. In the same year he was selected to be part of the National Exhibition of Young Creators. He lives and works in Lisbon.

Born in 1969, in Mouraria de Lisboa. He collaborated as an editorial illustrator with practically all the Portuguese press, with special emphasis on Expresso, Observador, Público and Time Out. It is published by Esfera dos Livros, with the Greek version by Patakis Publications, by Abysmo and by Bertrand. He is a professor of Comics and Political Cartoon at Ar.Co and designed several Lisbon Festivals, which have animated festivals since 2014. He participates in the Sardinha by Bordallo collection (Fábrica de Faiança Bordallo Pinheiro) with his “Sardinha do Golaço”, commemorating the made our national team champion at Euro 2016. His book “Tudo Isto é Fado! “(Museu do Fado) was awarded the Best Comic Book 2016 (FIBDA) award. He is also the unofficial illustrator of several murals in Lisbon.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, he taught the subjects of 2D Animation and Graphic Representation at Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis, in Porto. She has a degree in Art and Multimedia – Animation, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (FBAUL). He participated in several fanzines such as Black in white, Nicotine It is Your Mouth is a Guillotine. She is the author of comics STABAT MATER (2015), MANUE Useless (2016) and Green Pear (2019). It is also part of the collective comic book anthology Black Bruise (2018), published by Chili Com Carne. It also has illustrated work (books, albums, posters and programs) for publishers, newspapers, museums and theaters. Since 2014, he has collaborated with national animation producers, including MODOImago, Animanostra, Animais Avpl., Sardinha em Lata, Toonelada, AIM Creative Studios and BAP-Studio (Bando à Parte). As a trainer, she organizes comics, animated film and illustration workshops across the country.

He studied Fine Arts and Multimedia Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and Illustration at the Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciências, Lisbon. Since 2003, she has worked as an illustrator of covers, magazines, posters, records and children's books. He has collaborated with Pataca Discos, 2034, Universal, Take It Easy, Ink Publishing, Bayard Jeunesse, Tcharan, Pato Lógico, Livros Horizonte, Máquina de Voar, GataFunho. He has been teaching illustration at Nextart School in Lisbon since 2012 and running animation workshops at Cinemateca Júnior Lisboa since 2009.
