The School of Arts – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa aims to encompass new artistic practices, particularly in digital areas, seeking to combine tradition and modernity and responding to contemporary challenges and problems, asserting itself as a living, dynamic space open to the community, consolidating it serves as a reference for critical thinking and artistic practice.

Thus, the mission of the School of Arts – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa is guided by the production and dissemination of cultural, artistic and scientific knowledge, by free training, not granting a degree and at the level of higher education, by the social valorization of knowledge, as well as as well as the community in which it operates.

In the spirit of the Cooperativa Ensino Universitário CRL, and with a clearly humanist and universalist profile, the School of Arts – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa is committed to asserting itself as a plural space, characterized by free artistic practice, the free expression of ideas and for the free production of knowledge, seeking to cultivate transparency and rigor in all areas of its activity.

The School of Arts – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa is also committed to promoting inclusion and equality in access to cultural, artistic and scientific production and knowledge, regardless of gender and social, political, ethnic or religious issues.

Continuing the historical connection of Cooperativa de Ensino Universitário to the remaining Member States of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), the School of Arts – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa also intends to stimulate cooperation between peoples.
