The School of Arts will host the exhibition “Olhares Transitórios”, by visual artist Joana Paraíso, whose opening is scheduled for November 14, Thursday, at 6:00 pm.

The exhibition brings together a wide range of works closely linked to the resources, techniques and language of Drawing. This is the artist’s second solo exhibition as part of the artistic project “Lugar Habitado”, whose visual and conceptual research began with the implementation of a pedestrian route in Lisbon. Implemented in phases, this pedestrian route sought to involve the various aspects of public space (streets, avenues, squares, green spaces, etc.) and, for this reason, it also engages with the exhibition space — a transitory and passing space, a connecting line between spaces (meeting points).

Joana Paraíso (artistic name), 1983, Barcelos. Lives and works in Lisbon since 2005. Currently
is currently pursuing a PhD in Fine Arts, specializing in Drawing, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. His work is multidisciplinary and focuses on the concept of Territory, with an interest in issues related to displacement, dialogue and a sense of belonging.
